Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival For Children

For the past decade Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children, a division of the Toronto International Film Festival Group (TIFFG), has offered children and youth the opportunity to learn about film and cultural perspectives from around the world. Through the power of film, Sprockets is helping to transform the way children and youth see the world.  Sprockets includes a Family Programme for ages three and up and a week-long School Programmefor students in grades 1 to 12. The School Programme is designed with curriculum links and support material for educators.

The festival launched in 1998 with an attendance of 2,300, and has grown at a phenomenal pace, increasing its audience to over 25,000 people in 2007. The tremendous success of this event led to the creation of the Sprockets Globetrotter Series, and year-round outreach programming, including Pocket Fund and Special Delivery, which reached approximately 3,000 youth in 2006.
