Welcome to Reel Learning - The growing success of Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children has inspired our team to develop a series of film-education resources for teachers. Reel Learning is an online film-literacy resource for educators. With live video interviews, interactive webcasts with film-industry experts, e-newsletters and a wide range of study guides, Reel Learning is a unique resource portal for educators and those interested in film and media literacy.
For ongoing updates to our teacher resources and news and information on the world of media literacy, please sign up for our Reel Learning teacher newsletter.
The Toronto International Film Festival Group aims to provide a transformative learning experience for youth through the moving image. We believe film is a tool that can give a voice to students, bridge cultures and transform the way students see the world. Written literacy was the focus of twentieth-century education; media literacy will be the focus in the twenty-first!
It continues to be the Toronto International Film Festival Group’s goal of educating through the moving image and creating a transformative learning experience for all through film.
Please note: the perspectives and/or opinions expressed in films, websites and curricula presented on the Reel Learning website do not necessarily reflect those of the Toronto International Film Festival Group.
